A simple exercise is ask your self how could I reach my 3 years goal in the next 6 months?
You really quickly will realize all the low leverage items you’re doing that won’t get you to your goal.
About 3yrs ago I was trapped in a grind at my job. Then I took a hard rest, just as you recommend. 5 days (calling in sick).
Gained new perspective. Decided to improve the sex life with my wife. Never felt more satisfied than now.
Now I help married men do the same with their sex life.

By which standard is someone’s work unnecessary? Is reflection unnecessary? Is contemplation, distraction, task switching unnecessary?
