I particularly love the part about no idea is new. I've been saying for a long time that there are no new ideas, only new content.

Ideas have been repeated throughout time. The only differences are usually based on personal experiences and perspectives.

The only original thing about an idea is it's source.

Dan, I find the idea of moving beyond the traditional influencer model fascinating, especially as someone who's recently left a conventional career to pursue writing.

Because there's a strange contradiction in trying to build an independent creative life online.

We leave behind the expectations of one system, only to discover another one waiting for us: publish constantly, optimise everything, build an audience, become a brand, and preferably have a monetisation strategy before breakfast 😂☕️

I started Real Conversations because I wanted to write about love, identity, motherhood, and the beautifully inconvenient business of being human.

And the more I write, the more I realise that I don't particularly want to become someone people aspire to be.

I'd rather become someone people feel comfortable being themselves around.

I want to build something sustainable, yes. I want my writing to support the life I'm creating. But I don't want every personal experience to become a marketing opportunity or every conversation to become a conversion funnel.

Perhaps the most interesting evolution of the creator economy isn't simply changing how we monetise attention.

It's asking what kind of relationship we actually want to have with the people who give us theirs.

Because influence might make someone notice you.

Trust is what makes them want to stay. ❤️

A body of work that outlasts the feed is the real asset — and your Oct 5 full course on turning interests into a business proved you build that way. What tells an artisan it's deep enough to stop chasing reach?

Dan, your intellectual signature = total immersion; an experience akin to arching my neocortex from the bliss of multiple mental orgasms. I’m often left breathless, exhilarated and elevated. Reliably invaluable insights, sans hyperbole. Bravura execution.

Here a 40 year old mom. I follow those other moms, but I don't want to just document a one-million dollar launch. I want to be an artisan.

The idea museum is a wonderful mental model. You have put into words something that I have spent the last two decades doing without fully contextualising it.
